November was a busy month filled with meaningful interactions with our community. Our Residents had the opportunity to shine and share their stories, uplifting those around them. We were especially proud to celebrate not just one, but two Residents who were asked to serve as grand marshals in our Veteran’s local parade on November 11. Both of these remarkable women are over 100 years old and joined the military at a time when women were only beginning to be formally recognized for their service. They waved to the crowd as they rode downtown, leading to the courthouse where they received special recognition and enjoyed the warmth of the sun.

During this month, we also remained committed to our mission of giving back. Sisters and staff worked together to serve breakfast to individuals experiencing homelessness during the National Homeless Week. Warm burritos, hot coffee, and hot chocolate were provided, along with items to help keep people warm during these chilly months. We wanted to remind them that they are not forgotten, and several expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Thank you for seeing us.”

As we look back on the month of November, we are deeply grateful for the donors that stand with us in providing small acts of joy. Your act of kindness allows us to continue our work. Thank you for standing with us every step of the way.
