Association Jeanne Jugan
The Association Jeanne Jugan offers Catholic men and women the opportunity of sharing in the spirituality of the Little Sisters of the Poor, of participating in our mission of hospitality, and of helping to spread the charism of Saint Jeanne Jugan where they live and work.
Association Jeanne Jugan formation classes usually begin in May. The group in training meets monthly under the guidance of a Little Sister.
After a year of spiritual preparation, new members are inducted into the Association Jeanne Jugan on May 1, the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, patron of our Congregation.
Association Jeanne Jugan activities include:
- Serving as lectors and Eucharistic ministers
- Visiting Residents who are hospitalized, room-bound or in need of special attention
- Helping with the meal service
- Assuring a comforting presence with the dying Residents
- Helping with fundraising activities
- Helping the activities department with their events
If you are interested in joining the Association Jeanne Jugan, please email Sr. Mildred at comgallup@littlesistersofthepoor.org or call (505) 863-6894.
Lend a Helping Hand and Volunteer
Volunteers are a vital part of our family spirit at Villa Guadalupe.
Help is needed in areas such as the laundry, activities department, arts and crafts, driving Residents for appointments, visiting Residents and with computer training, just to mention a few areas.
More than 20 men and women volunteer and assist us in making the Home a lively place for our Residents. These volunteers quickly learn for themselves the joys of helping their elderly brothers and sisters.
You too can discover the many rewards of volunteering regularly or for special events. Please call to inquire about volunteer opportunities: 505-863-6894. You can also contact us at volgallup@littlesistersofthepoor.org or drop by our Home.
